Golf

I’m not really sure why this game is called golf… Play the 9 hole game of golf! Ha ha the only reason I can think of is you want to get the least amount of points. Like golf! Maybe?

How to play:

Use two decks of rook cards, keep the rooks in. The dealer will deal 9 cards to each player, then flip one card face up as the discard pile and the rest of the deck face down next to the pile. (DON’T LOOK AT THE CARDS) Lay the dealt cards face down in the 3 rows of 3. Each player then chooses 2 cards to flip face up. The person left of the dealer is first to go.

You have 3 choices to choose from, when it’s your turn:
  1. Pick up the top card in the discard pile
  2. Pick up a card off the top of the deck
  3. Flip one of your 9 faced down cards over
  • Pick up the top card in the discard pile/Pick up a card off the top of the deck

When picking a card either from the discard pile or the deck, you can do one of the following: switch out any one of your face up or down cards with the picked card or discard  (Just know if you switch out one that is face down, it’s the luck of the draw. You CANNOT keep the card you switched out, even if it’s a better card.) Discard the card you picked up. Or if you choose to pick up from the deck you can discard that card, but then you have to flip one of your 9 cards that is face down. You can’t, however, pick up a discarded card and rediscard it as your turn.

  • Flip one of your 9 face down cards over

When flipping over one of your own cards. You can choose any down facing card to flip over, but once you flip over your card, it ends your turn and it’s the next players turn.

Three in a row:

If you get 3 of the same cards in a row, which includes diagonally. It cancels all of the points in that row. Now that row equals zero, BUT the three in a row have to stay until the end of the game to count. If any 3 minus cards are in a row they equal zero NOT minus whatever there value they would be.

Card values:

All cards are face value, except for these:

14’s=1

13’s=1

12’s=13

7’s=0

Rook’s=5

Tip: if you get three 14’s in a row the whole row counts at zero NOT -3. Like explained above.

Object of the Game:

Gain the least amount points and win!

How to the game ends:

Once any player has turned their final face down card over the game ends, all other players get one final turn. After all the players had their last turn, turn over any remaining face down cards, you get what you get and add up your points.

How to calculate points:

Choose one player to be the scorekeeper. When the round is over, count your points and have the scorekeeper write down your points. When someone gets to 100 points, the game is over and the person with the least amount of points wins.

“Playing games makes for more joyful journeys, this is just one Country Girls opinion! ENJOY!
