Finger Lickin’ BBQ Pork Ribs

Recipe by Shaylee YoungCourse: DinnerCuisine: American
Cooking time

3-6 hours

Ingredients

  • 1 Rack of Ribs

  • 3 Tablespoons Pork Rub Spade L Seasoning

  • 1 Tablespoon Montreal Steak Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
    1 teaspoon Black Pepper
1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke (can be made with or without)

  • 1/4-1/2 Cup Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce

  • Tin Foil

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 250°.
  • Lay down one layer of tin foil on a cookie sheet, put ribs on the foil faced down, add half the seasonings (except for the BBQ sauce), then flip the rack over and add the rest of the seasonings. Make sure there is an even coating on both sides.
  • Next, fold the foil over the ribs, like you’re wrapping up a burrito. Fold short ends in the long ends fold over the short ends. Now add one more layer of tin foil on top of the ribs. Folding the same way with the excess under the rack of ribs, the top of the ribs will face up.Hands showing how to fold tin foil over BBQ pork ribs.
  • Put the ribs into the preheated oven with the cookie sheet under them. Cook for at LEAST 3 hours, but 4+ hours is preferred. When cooked for 3 hours the ribs will be soft, but still have texture. When cooked 4+ hours the ribs fall right off the bone! Cook to your preference.
  • Once preferred time has completed, take ribs out of the oven. Turn oven to boil at 500°. while oven is heating up, unwrap ribs (The tin foil is EXTREMELY HOT, so carefully unwrap with heat protectant gloves on) When unwrapping, take the first layer off, leaving the bottom layer under the ribs, but open. Cup up the sides of the bottom layer of tin foil like a boat, (pictured below how to cup up the sides like a boat) this keeps the juices in and the ribs moist. Oven baked BBQ pork ribs with caramelized BBQ sauce on top.
  • Add the BBQ Sauce to the top of the ribs (a pastry brush works really well for this) put the open faced ribs back into the oven on broil at 500° for 10-15 minutes. When the BBQ Sauce starts to bubble and caramelize, the ribs are done! EAT and Enjoy!

Notes

  • Tip: This goes great with mashed potatoes and baked beans.
